The
aircraft was transported by road
in April 1987 to British
Aerospace's Woodford Aerodrome,
Cheshire SK7
1QS, for a
planned rebuild to flying
condition. The majority of
Lancasters built in the UK during
the war years were manufactured by
Avro at their factory
at Chadderton, near Oldham,
Greater Manchester, and then
assembled and test flown from
Woodford Aerodrome in Cheshire.
